Cancellation Policy

This policy applies to reservations made on or after September 20, 2021.

 

This page explains our Cancellation Policy. Anyone who books or makes a reservation offer for a tour on the jolstour.cr site ("You") may cancel reservations, accept cancellations and / or refunds in accordance with the following terms and conditions.

 

How to cancel a reservation?

 

All cancellations must be initiated by contacting JOLS Tours Support via:

 

 

Standard policy

 

You will receive a full refund of the tour price if you cancel at least 16 days before the tour start date. The time is calculated according to the tour's time zone. However, if the cancellation is made 15 days before the tour start date, a 100% penalty of the contracted package will be applied.

It is important to note that the lodging penalty applies separately, as it varies based on each hotel. Each cancellation policy will be communicated to you before confirming the reservation.

 

Unpredictable events

 

You may receive a refund of the tour price if you are unable to take the tour due to an unforeseen event that is beyond your control and appears after the booking ("Unforeseen Events"). The determination of what constitutes unforeseen events is at the discretion of JOLS Tours.

 

Here is a list of examples of what we consider unforeseen events:

 

  1. Impersonal events that make it dangerous or impossible to travel safely, such as: travel restrictions imposed by governments, unusual epidemic disease in an area, war, civil insurrection, strike, extreme weather, earthquake and natural disaster;

  2. A ship that is unable to dock and prevents you from taking a tour identified and marked as a type of shore excursion at the site;

  3. Cancellation of a flight if there are no other means to travel to the destination; and

  4. A "Do Not Travel" notice issued by the US Department of State after booking.

 

The following do not constitute Unforeseen Events:

 

  1. Illness or injury of a tour participant;

  2. Bad weather;

  3. Change of plans;

  4. Oversleep

 

We may require you to provide verification and / or documentation to confirm that you were unable to complete your tour if you are requesting a refund under this provision. You can verify with Customer Service that the event is an unpredictable Event and that they can provide the required documentation before canceling any reservation.

 

Amendments

 

JOLS Tours may modify and amend this Cancellation Policy from time to time in its sole discretion. JOLS Tours will notify you by posting such changes on the site.

Refunds will be returned to the original payment method used to make the reservation. Depending on the bank's processing time, it may take 10 business days for refunds to be reflected in your bank account or card balance.

 

JOLS Tours is not responsible for any incidental expenses that you and / or any other participant may have incurred directly or indirectly as a result of booking a tour. These expenses include, but are not limited to, the cost of visas, accommodation, vehicle rental, vaccinations.
